The Best Abrasives in The Market.

We manufacture and ship high quality Steel Shots, Steel Grits and CI Grits.
Since Shots and Grits are a crucial element of many manufacturing sectors, primarily the auto industry, we take pride in providing our clientele with the best abrasives in the business.

Steel Shots are spherical grains made of molten steel through an atomization (granulation) process. These are available in different sizes and hardness.
Steel Grits are grains with an angular shape. These grains are obtained by crushing Steel Shots, therefore they exhibit sharp edges and broken sections.
These are harder than Steel Shots and are also available in different sizes and hardness.

We strive to provide you with exactly the kind of abrasives that suit your applications.

Blasting using IMI Steel Shots and IMI Steel Grits is a process where the abrasive media are propelled by Air Blasting or Wheel blasting units on components. Such blasting removes scales from the surface of the component and prepares it for subsequent process.

Shot Blasting and Grit Blasting is used in:

  • Derusting and Blast Cleaning: This involves removing burrs, rust, scale or paint prior to further operation. For this purpose the shots/grits are blasted on components from a Wheel Blasting Machine in Foundries, Forging & Die Casting Units.
  • Surface preparation.
This involves preparing the surface prior to painting and coating. It also involves providing a matte surface finish on certain surfaces. Steel Shots/ Steel Grits are blasted on surfaces using Air Blasting Equipments in construction, Fabrication, Automobile, Painting and Coating Industries.
Shot Peening is a cold working process used to produce a compressive residual stress layer and modify mechanical properties of metals and composites.
It involves impacting a surface with shot (round metallic, glass, or ceramic particles) with force sufficient to create plastic deformation. Shot peening is used in various industries such as: pistons, cylinder heads, transmission gears, axles, crank shafts, connecting rods, turbine engine disks, blades and shafts, aircraft wing skins, stringers, chords, landing Gears, wheels, valves and Springs.

High Carbon Ferro Manganese are high value added products usually used for manufacturing of mild steel and special steel. IMI is one of the largest producers and exporters of manganese based High Carbon Ferro Manganese.
